Levels of status points
The four status levels are:

Status Points are earned by credit card expenditures or flying.
Four types of status as a member are:
- Green. It is the basic membership. No Status Points are needed.
- Silver. The membership has 300 Status Points.
- Gold. The membership needs 600 Status Points
- Diamond. The membership has 1,200 Status Points.

Are points earned miles?
As a loyalty program of the Airline company, points are earned and it is known as Asia Miles. Members start earning points by taking a flight, shopping, and spending using credit cards. Credit cards are only those partnered by the airline company. Create an Asia Miles account to get rewards in the form of points.
To earn points, quote your membership number when booking or during check-in. When your fare and flight classes are eligible, Asia Miles is credited to the member’s account in 4-6 weeks after completing travels. There are specific flights and tickets are eligible for miles or points.
How can you spend points?
You can fly to your dream destination using points. The choice is yours, fly to your favorite airline and upgrade the experience. You can do this by redeeming an air ticket. Members can enjoy flexibility when using:
- Hong Kong Express airfare
- Plus Cash for Cathay
- Earn miles on award tickets
When redeeming frequent flight miles will pay for the award flights. But, you would not earn miles on the fees and taxes to pay for the award flights either.
Do status points expire?
Status points can automatically reset to zero upon the following:
- Upon renewal
- Upgrade
- Downgrade
After the status points are reset, a new membership begins. The Asia Miles served as the currency for:
- flight
- lifestyle award redemptions
Status points will be valid for 3 years. Status points make a member qualify for membership status. Meaning, status points will be the ticket to level up the membership. Membership has four status types, such as:
- Green
- Silver
- Gold
- Diamond
Earn points by flying on Cathay Pacific and its partner airline One World. Status Points are calculated according to the combination of:
- Airline
- Cabin
- Fare class or fare type
- Distance traveled

The exact points and miles a member earned from flights appear during the booking process once you have booked a flight. You can earn up to 100 Status Points for particular eligible transactions.
